Do I need to keep my car in a garage / alarmed / immobilised to get cover with you?
Not with most cars. As long as you ensure that your car is adequately locked and the windows are shut each time you leave it, our policy will normally cover you, whether or not it is kept in a garage or fitted with an alarm or immobiliser, but you should refer to your policy conditions as these may differ.
I’ve been named a driver on someone else’s policy for a few years – does that entitle me to a no claims discount if I start my own?
Only the actual policy holder can benefit from the no-claim discount. However, you may still be eligible for an introductory discount if you are claim-free.
I’m getting a second vehicle, can I use my no-claim discount twice?
The no-claim discount has to stay with one vehicle at a time. If the person who is taking the policy is claim-free, however, this will always help to keep the premiums down.
As a named driver, can I drive somebody else’s car with their permission?
No. This only applies to the policy holder, provided the certificate of insurance states that they may drive other cars, but cover is restricted to Third Party only.

How do I pay for my cover?
We can take payment by credit card, Switch or Direct Debit.
Can I pay by instalments?
Certainly, subject to our normal instalments conditions.
How do I renew my policy?
Renewing your policy couldn’t be easier. You will
receive your renewal notice 3-4 weeks before your
renewal date, containing all your premium information
and a breakdown of your cover.
Automatic renewal:
If your policy is being paid by Direct Debit, it
will be renewed automatically. All you need to check
is that the information on the renewal notice is
still accurate. There is no need for you to contact
us unless you need to make an amendment to your
renewal.
Manual renewal:
If your policy is not on automatic renewal, you
will be informed by renewal letter. In order to
renew your policy you should then contact us on
the telephone number provided before the expiry
date.
I am currently insured to drive a company car through my employer. Do these claim-free years contribute to a No Claim Discount?
If you’ve previously driven a company car (not a pool car) for business and pleasure, we may be able to offer you an enhanced introductory discount. You must have surrendered the company car within the previous year, be claim-free and be able to supply a letter from your employer to confirm this information.
